CASE STUDY: KENSINGTON, LONDON INTERIOR DESIGN ART

Our portfolio caught the interest of a private client and they invited us to view their property undergoing major renovations in Kensington, London. After seeing the site, we sat down with the client and interior designer to brainstorm ideas for different themed rooms. The two rooms that required substantial pieces of interior design art were the cinema room and the top floor bedroom.

Murals 5

For the cinema room, we designed a hand painted mural showing the Chicago skyline, using hand-picked buildings that the client had fond memories of. We hand painted the mural on specially made cabinet doors, using eggshell paint to give a smooth finish and durability. The hand painted mural was also designed to subtly incorporate a cinema projector, with a full moon cover painted to hide the projector when not in use.

Murals 4

For the top floor bedroom, we designed a Banksy-influenced hand painted mural based on a London theme. The mural was painted onto a wallbed, both on the headboard and on the base of the bed such that the artwork would be in constant view. We incorporated traditional British symbols such as Big Ben, a red telephone box and a Royal Mail stamp.

The client was delighted with the outcome and our artwork for this project has featured in ’25 Beautiful Homes’ magazine.
